Deilon come from the system Deilon which is currently in the Dangerzone. Hundreds of thousands of years ago the population of their homeworld exploded and reached 20 billion during heavy industrial revolution. In that time they completely devastated their planet with strip mining and caused a complete environmental collapse. Following the death of their planet they expanded into space and colonized their home system. Having discovered neither NLS nor fold space technology they could venture no further. Again their population boomed and reached 50 billion during the next thousands of years and the species became very adept to living in space and even manipulated their own evolution to that end. Eventually the system was discovered by the galactic civilization and brought into the fold. Since the system itself was almost at the brink of destruction most of the deilon left and spread throughout the Galaxy. Now, a hundred thousand years later the deilon are everywhere and their skills and aptitude in space is legendary. They are at the forefront of mining and industry and control some of the most lucrative mining companies in the galaxy. They have managed to create a good niche for themselves and are generally well liked. Deilon do not have a lot of 'racial identity' and do not band together much but they do hold their former homeworld in reverence and try to visit it and even help restore it for future generations. |
